For many people the summer holidays are the ideal moment to dust off the suitcases and enjoy relaxing or exploring abroad. But is this possible while participating in a clinical trial? Often, medication has to be administered on a regular basis or certain parameters need to be measured, making it difficult to plan a trip. Adios sea, beach and palm trees?
Wait… don’t throw away your slippers just yet. Because even at camp or on holiday the follow-up for your clinical trial can be assured. The time when going on a trip during your participation in a clinical trial was an absolute no-go, has long passed.

For a study with children needing a weekly injection, several patients with wanderlust asked us during the spring season whether or not their family holiday could go through. Because we always put the comfort of the patient first, it was a must for us to let everyone enjoy a relaxing holiday.
But how does that work? Luckily, they didn’t have to stuff a nurse in their suitcase. With the help of our French colleagues and by training some additional nurses, the home visits for these patients could take place in between a game of Kubb and a splash in the swimming pool.
A total of 10 home visits have taken place abroad during this summer holiday. Do not hesitate to contact us if you would like more information on this matter.
